Terrace Perfection
Flagstone Terrace Paving & Formal Garden Layout – Residential Project
This project demonstrates how structured paving and formal landscaping can be used to create a cohesive terrace garden layout.
A combination of flagstone pathways, defined planting zones, and feature elements has been used to guide movement and establish clear spatial flow throughout the outdoor area. The result is a layered garden design where paving plays a central role in both function and visual structure.

FORMAL GARDEN PATHWAYS
This project uses large-format flagstones to create structured pathways through the garden, linking the different zones while keeping the overall layout clean and symmetrical. The straight lines and framed edges help organise the planting beds and create a strong architectural feel throughout the space.
CIRCULAR FEATURE PAVING
Circular paved sections have been used around focal features such as the gazebo and central planting points. These shapes soften the more formal lines of the garden while drawing attention to key moments within the design and creating a strong visual rhythm across the landscape. Beyond function, it brings a sense of completeness to the space. The seating doesn’t feel added on, but rather built into the layout from the start.
PLANTER BOXES, EDGING & DETAILING
Raised planters, lawn borders and garden transitions have been carefully detailed to give the space a finished, deliberate feel. The paving and edging elements work together to frame the planting, define the beds and maintain clear separation between hard landscaping and greenery.
FEATURE GARDEN ZONES
Rather than functioning as one open lawn, the garden has been divided into a series of designed spaces. Paving is used to guide movement between these areas, while focal structures, clipped planting and feature elements create distinct visual moments throughout the project.
COBBLE DRIVEWAY & ARRIVAL AREA
The entrance and driveway area use cobble paving to extend the same sense of structure and permanence through to the front of the property. This adds texture and contrast while keeping the overall material palette cohesive with the rest of the landscape.
