Beautiful Blair Athol

This French Chateaux style home has charm in spades and holds a very special place in our hearts.

From the road this home isn’t all that visible which adds to the excitement of what’s to come. A sweeping, tree-lined cobble driveway leads you down and around to reveal this stunning home in all it’s splendour.

Beautifully designed and exquisitely detailed, this home has been expertly cladded in our earthy- toned French Cladding Range (with Fieldstone). The smoothly plastered door, window and banding details, contrast with the texture of the cladding, creating highlights and shadows, especially when up lit at night. When it came to choosing a product for the exterior flooring, our Chateaux Flagstones were the perfect choice. This stunning range has a real old world look, with subtle indentations and weathered detailing reminiscent of paved European streets. The flagstones were antiqued using a special oxide solution and then sealed to lock in the effect, which will see the aged look retained for years to come.

An eight sized random pattern was used where the floor space allowed and in the tighter spacers, the smaller sized pavers within the range were used. All overhanging edges and stairs of the main patio received bullnose and formal riser detailing which complement the cured plaster bands perfectly.

The pool house patio and pool also received the same treatment with our Antique Chateaux Flagstone Range and even though the lawn is almost flush with the patio, a bullnose paver was used on the edges, creating the illusion that the pavers are floating above the lawn.

This beautiful home is completed by the perfect, natural setting of mature trees, rolling lawns and a private dam set amongst tall trees.

The inside scoop:
Cladding is a product that is generally used to highlight architectural features and not to be used en masse. However, this property is the exception to the rule as the cladding has been incorporated in a manner that allows it to be seen as part of the building’s structure in order to replicate the materials used in construction in years gone by.
